About the blogger

Some people can't get enough of Cincinnati sports. My name is Rich Hidy and I am currently a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame. I am a born and raised Cincinnatian and have been a Reds and Bengals season ticket holder during my time in the area. I also attend Cincinnati basketball and football games, as well as many Xavier basketball games. I am as big a fan of the teams in the Cincinnati area as anyone. I devote a great deal of my free time to being an educated fan and forming my own spin on the latest news. I graduated from St. Xavier High School, where I first became interested in covering sports. I was the Managing Director for the Student Sports Information Directors, where I was involved in broadcasting different sporting events, including Varsity basketball games. I also became a Sports Editor my junior year in high school and the Co-Editor-In-Chief my senior year of The Blueprint, the online and print newspaper. At Notre Dame, I have extensive experience in journalism and media coverage. I work for the University's Athletic Department and cover Notre Dame's lacrosse teams. I have interviewed many distinguished athletes and media gurus in the business of sports, including Dhani Jones, Mike Mayock and Mike Golic. I am currently the Sports Editor of The Irish Rover (http://www.irishrover.net) and the Sports Editor of Scholastic (http://blogs.nd.edu/scholastic-magazine/) at Notre Dame. I also broadcast for both student radio and Notre Dame's official athletic website, and I am a Sports Reporter for NDtv. I hope you enjoy my blog and learn something new with each post.
